This book pickup a few weeks after the inheritance games. At the beginning some of the parts were predictable and there was alot more hints of romance then the first book. This book is slower paced and definitely takes time to get into but once it gets into the main story line of the book it is good but it definitely got the best at the last 100 pages when everything that has built up in the rest of the book was explained.
Pov: you're giving a really bad review while trying to finish the last chapter.I'm not going to lie the only reason why I'm reading this before out of five instead of a 5 out of five like I did with the first book is because there were a few points in time towards the end of the book where I basically in my head already figured out one of the big plot twists that was coming. So at that point I just kind of tuned out I read the words but I wasn't reading the words. With that being said for those short chapters where I really wasn't paying attention to what I was reading I I'm knocking it down a star. Plus the idea that I also kind of pinpointed one of the biggest plot twists. But other than that there's so many other plot twists within the second book that I was not expected and also. The biggest plot twist which is not even a plot twist like at all not a plot twist. But I absolutely fell in love when Jameson and Grayson literally went at it at the hospital when Avery died like Jameson give me more. And I don't even know why I'm fighting between the two of them and I'm torn between the two of them like. I love Grayson don't get me wrong but Jameson Jameson oh boy I'm rooting for him to end with Avery because he admitted that he was no longer playing the game and I was like ah Jah dropped for me that was the plot of the book that I needed but like I said. Do not get me wrong the second book was just as interesting as the first one and I'm about to go pick up the third one and read the third one and then I have to sit here and actually wait for the fourth book f***.
"Est unus ex nobis. Nos defendat eius." I'm not one to often stray away from my comfort bubble when it comes to reading. I either read fantasy, romance or fantasy romance combos. But I'd loved the first book so much that I just had to read the second book straight away, and I loved it just as much! The Inheritance Games ended with a bombshell, and now heiress Avery Grambs has to pick up the pieces and find the man who might hold the answers to all of her questions - including why Tobias Hawthorne left his entire fortune to Avery, a virtual stranger, rather than to his own daughters or grandsons. In The Hawthorne Legacy, the mystery keeps spiralling until deeper connections are uncovered and relationships are formed. Once you think you've figured out one part of the mystery, the rug is pulled out from underneath you and you end up being further away than ever. These books are intense but also intriguing. It's fascinating to see how all of their minds work and what gets each person to tick. Conclusion: Overall, I loved this book. I couldn't put it down! I'm not normally one to read mysteries but this book series has definitely peaked my interest in the genre. All I have to do now is try to make it until the next book's release in August without losing my mind... Another definite 5 stars from me!
I loved the book until Page 339
