설명

In a gripping tale of suspense, a mother receives an abruptly interrupted call from her child, leaving her with a chilling sense of urgency. With the line going dead after only a few words, she is thrust into a nightmare where every second counts. The silence that follows is deafening, and her imagination races with the worst possibilities.

Determined to find answers, she embarks on a frantic search that leads her into a web of secrets and unexpected dangers. As she navigates through a maze of clues, she uncovers unsettling truths about her child's life and the hidden threats lurking around them.

With each twist and turn, the story deepens, testing her resolve and maternal instincts. As she confronts the unknown, she must rely on her inner strength and resourcefulness to piece together what happened before it’s too late.

I think I've come to the conclusion that I'm not a great fan of American (or any other nationality) 'thriller' novels which I would class this. It was ok. It was an enjoyable story but I want more from a book than that. I want to finish a book left thinking about the story, the atmosphere, the characters. To me this was the equivalent of an action movie which aren't my favourite types of films. There were some police, FBI, baddies, goodies, guns, explosions all in the space of a few days.It was partly told from the point of view of the mother as if she was talking casually to the reader so there were lots of sentences that started with "Heck, I..." or "Whatever,..." or "Ok, so..." as if she was having a conversation with us but I don't like chit chat and would rather have more substance.I did like the elements surrounding the Native American reserve and the Everglades.
