설명

In a world where shadows dance and whispers of ancient legends fill the air, a tale unfolds that intricately weaves Slavic folklore with contemporary themes. The narrative invites readers into a mesmerizing realm, where the supernatural coexists with the trials of humanity. Characters navigate through overwhelming challenges, struggling between their desires and the demands of a world steeped in tradition and superstition.

As the story progresses, the protagonist finds themselves surrounded by the enigmatic presence of crows, symbols of change and omen throughout the ages. These birds, both feared and revered, guide the journey, prompting questions about fate, identity, and the bonds that tie people to their heritage. Each encounter with these creatures becomes a pivotal moment for the characters, pushing them towards self-discovery and growth amidst adversity.

The writing style captivates with its lyrical prose and vivid imagery, pulling readers deeper into the tumultuous emotions experienced by its characters. Themes of resilience, bravery, and the search for belonging ripple throughout the narrative, encouraging reflection on not only personal struggles but also the ties to one's culture and history.

Through rich storytelling, a world is built that feels both familiar and foreign, drawing on the beauty and complexity of Slavic lore. The journey among the crows becomes a profound exploration of what it means to confront one's past while forging a path toward the future, leaving readers enthralled and contemplating the echoes of their own stories.

액션 & 어드벤처 판타지

I’m pleasantly surprised at how intricately Roth managed to craft a rich, magically gothic world and complex characters in such a short time. At only 163 pages, this was a quick read chock-full of monsters, dangerous quests, curses, and sacrifice with deeper themes of family loyalty, redemption, and atonement. I’m not familiar with Slavic folklore so all the creatures and lore was fascinating to me and it felt like reading a modern day Grimms fairytale. Rounding up to 5 stars simply because I am so impressed with how fleshed out this story is and how Roth did so much in so little pages. Also, the cover!
