Maple Hills students Russ Callaghan and Aurora Roberts cross paths at a party celebrating the end of the academic year, where a drinking game results in them having a passionate one-night stand. Never one to overstay her welcome (or expect much from a man), Aurora slips away before Russ even has the chance to ask for her full name.
Imagine their surprise when they bump into each other on the first day of the summer camp where they are both counselors, hoping to escape their complicated home lives by spending the summer working. Russ hopes if he gets far enough away from Maple Hills, he can avoid dealing with the repercussions of his father’s gambling addiction, while Aurora is tired of craving attention from everyone around her, and wants to go back to the last place she truly felt at home.
Russ knows breaking the camp’s strict “no staff fraternizing” rule will have him heading back to Maple Hills before the summer is over, but unfortunately for him, Aurora has never been very good at caring about the rules. Will the two learn to peacefully coexist? Or did their one night together start a fire they can’t put out?

Wildfire is pretty accurate with the way I DEVOURED this book like a hungry flame."If I change one thing in my past, it'd cause a ripple effect, and I wouldn't chance not meeting you."So I know I'm a bit late to the Maple Hills Universe but this book was worth the wait.I found Russ to be the perfect golden retriever boyfriend, and the way him and Aurora communicated around their feelings was a refreshing change from plotlines that thrive on miscommunications.Loved the way we were introduced to more characters from the Icebreaker friend group and I think Emilia and Xander might be my new spirit animals. Also shoutout to Fish and her aquatic themed puppies.At times I found Aurora just a tad much but her fiery passion compensated for those moments.The epilogue itself was the best ending I could've imagined for these characters, and it almost felt like witnessing friends get their happily ever after.All in all this was a great summer read that I couldn't put down and the spice was 🌶🌶🌶

3.75 ☆'SAfter loving Icebreaker I was really looking forward to reading this one. I really liked seeing how much time at camp made our main characters, Russ and Aurora, come into themselves. Both characters had some really hard family dynamics that they had to work through and it was interesting seeing how they worked through things. I'm pleased both characters came out the other side in a much better frame of mind. It was clear they were a great match and once the barriers came away they were just what the other needed to help them through.I didn't feel quite as big a pull to this one as I did with Icebreaker and so it did take me longer to get through. I'm looking forward to book 3 and more Henry!
