Beschrijving
Set in Germany during the 'golden' 1920s, this play was written by the Jewish Austrian writer Anna Gmeyner after her escape from the looming rise of fascism in Germany and Austria.
The satirical Volksstück portrays an ensamble of characters ranging from the foolish to the greedy, the confused to the cruel, the idealistic to the self-centred, and their interactions inside an unremarkable inn, sheding light on the era's social practices.
