Beschrijving

There is something strange about Coraline's new home. It's not the mist, or the cat that always seems to be watching her, nor the signs of danger that Miss Spink and Miss Forcible, her new neighbours, read in the tea leaves. It's the other house - the one behind the old door in the drawing room. Another mother and father with black-button eyes and papery skin are waiting for Coraline to join them there. And they want her to stay with them. For ever. She knows that if she ventures through that door, she may never come back.

This is a hard review to write. Not for any reason in particular. To get into things I liked. I enjoy the story and plot as a whole. I like Gaimans writing. I love the vibe and atmosphere of the story. It has always been a favourite of mine. The cat is definitely my favourite character. However, I watched the movie first (as I am sure, a lot of us did). The movie felt more fleshed out than the book. However that might be because of the movie being catered towards an older audience as well. I don't actually have any issues with the book, there are just some things I preferred more in the movie vs the book and vice versa. However this book will stay on my shelves to be treasured.
