Recensies
This is my least favourite in the series. I had a feeling that after loving the second book, this might disappoint and it did. Picking up the story from Rage and Ruin (2nd book), there was a new angle included in this one which took almost one half of the book. The plot is dragged so much that it becomes unbearable to keep reading. It consisted of a lot of narration and discussions. 90% of the story is built-up for the boss fight and I had to skip a lot of the story just to get to the end. Besides, the boss fight was very underwhelming except for the parts where Roth's familiar comes out! Moreover, the writing style is very repetitive and becomes frustrating pretty soon. "How Zaynโs always say the right thing, How Trinity's toes curl up, How she needs to add one more thing to her list of worries". Even the references and witty dialogues failed to save the book. They became irritating at one point because people just kept making sassy comments when they should be talking about serious things... The focus on romance and smut was too much, and the PDAs every now and then were super cringy. I can see why there was so much of it and it was all good (really, the smut was good), but it just felt extreme. Their relationship doesn't grow profoundly and it was more or less the same under different circumstances with a lot more sex than before๐Plus, they added an important discussion which took up most of the space in the plot but ended up being nothing and the "save the world" aspect of the plot took a side seat because of it. Trinity remains the same. Not worse, not better. But, her inner monologue killed me in this one. It was just too much to handle. Also, the badass and strong fighter Trinity was nowhere to be seen in this one. On the other hand, Zayne got so much worse. I don't like this version, just give me back the Zayne of book 2. He couldn't keep his hands off Trinity and his obsession was unbearable.Cayman's parts were the only sane and funny parts in the book. He reminded me how important 'Me Time' is, preferably on Tuesdays๐And, I couldn't have ever predicted that about Peanut; never ever. It changes everything. Not only in this book but in the whole series... All the actions, discussions; everything that Peanut did, it was all something else. That's...yeahh, something. I did not like Grace and Glory as much as I loved the second book, Rage and Ruin. It had the perfect amount of romance, action and sassy characters. This one was too much with a dragged storyline, an underwhelming climax and everything happening at a convenient rate.
