I think I liked this book the least of the series so far, but that's not saying THAT much because it was still very good. I thought the story itself was interesting, exactly the kind of thing we've come to know the Six Stories podcast for. There were just a few things this time that I didn't gel with. Scott seemed to be completely oblivious during some of his interviews, asking what a person was referencing literal seconds after they originally referenced it. There also was not a big, revelatory moment for me. I found that moments that probably should have been big-ish reveals, were so heavily hinted at for so long before the reveal, that by the time they got there it was just like 'yeah, I thought we all knew that.' I know big reveals aren't required, so this isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just something I've come to expect from the series. I know that's a lot of critique, but honestly, Wesolowski delivers consistently incredible stories. His last book, Deity, was easily the best so far (that ENDING????), so coming off of that, this one just didn't have the same oomph. That said, this continues to be a wholly enjoyable series. The characters are always great and feel like real people, which, in a podcast-style novel, is super important. The audiobook casting was great as always, and I'm excited to see where the series goes from here.
