Demon Queen's Gambit

This is a work of fiction intended for a mature audience. All characters are over 18.

In this final novella, all seven of which are collected in the novel "The Succubus Apprentice" In this novella Megan the mage, aka the Dark Queen of Demons, her beloved Succubus Kendra, Helen, Lorelei and The Vampire Kiki return for a rematch with the Dryad who has captured and bewitched their friends.

Brigit scooted off the ogre as he levered himself to his feet. He drew his axes from over his back and gave it a few practice swings. “Kiki just plunged fangs into the dryad, I think if you can take out the treemen we might be home free.”

“Who’s Kiki?” Phil asked sidestepping a leafy tendril that tried to ensnare his feet.
“She’s a vampire and my employer. Also kinda sorta my girlfriend.”

“Oh. How’s that working out for you?” Phil asked.

A treeman swung his giant leafy arm at him, and he ducked under it, gouging out a large slice of trunk as he stepped under the blow.

“Not great” Brigit said and pointed her hand at one of the treemen, flame poured from her outstretched fingers into the trunk, setting it alight. The treemen frantically beat at its own trunk to smother the flames.

“She’s kind of a bitch. But so very hot” Brigit explained.

“I understand completely” Phil said contemplating his own complicated liaison with a certain dark elf sorceress.
