Echoes by Steph Macca was an absolute rollercoasterListen… this book grabbed me by the throat the moment it started. Because excuse me?? We start right after that absolutely criminal cliffhanger from book 1 and Steph really said “peace and emotional stability? never heard of her.” 😭📚This whole book felt like a chaotic rollercoaster in the best possible way. Every time I thought I had something figured out, another twist appeared like surprise, you actually know nothing. The mysteries kept stacking up, the tension kept rising, and I was just sitting there like a feral reader turning pages at lightning speed.And the tension between the MMCs and the FMC?? HELLO??? The chemistry, the looks, the moments where you're just screaming internally because you know something is about to explode… I was living for it. Steph really knows how to build that emotional pressure until you’re basically vibrating with anticipation. 🫠🔥Also let’s talk about pacing because I devoured this in a single day. One day. My responsibilities were looking at me like “hello???” while I was like “sorry I’m emotionally invested in fictional chaos.”Now… about that ending.ANOTHER. CLIFFHANGER.Steph really said “sleep is optional, suffering is mandatory.” I closed the book and just stared into the void for a moment because WOW that ending. And let me tell you I am very excited to jump into book 3 because I need answers immediately. 😭⭐ 5 starsThis sequel raised the stakes, deepened the mystery, and had me completely hooked.Highly recommend if you enjoy twists, tension, and endings that leave you staring at the wall processing your life choices. 📚💀
I feel like this book was really meandering and just started picking up at the end, the same way I felt about the first book in the series. To be this deep and still have a WTF feeling is annoying. I also don't quite get the allure of the FMC. Extra star for Christopher at the end (I wish he was a main character) and the audio narration. My panties would melt right off listening to Anthony Palmini and Joe Arden go back and forth reading a phone book. For that reason, I will probably keep going.
The storyline just keeps getting better!!! Theo isn’t as bad as I thought he was gonna be! Soo freaking good!
