Who hasn’t had a nifty idea for a scene or a dialogue in a story and been put off by having to surround it with context? Influenced by authors from Borges to Danielewski, this collection presents 200 short pieces loaded with funny vignettes, dark and secret mysteries, fanciful histories, and eye-popping characters. Each piece of writing presented within is structured as short excerpt from a book that doesn’t exist. There's just enough of each to give a sense of the larger work lurking in the shadows. Bios of imaginary "contributors" and brief notes on each excerpt are provided as well.
