Juliette Jones is a burnt out Middle Manager, living in the "cultural desert" of Australian suburbia when she decides to run the New York Marathon looking for more meaning in her life.

She meets the urbane Argentinean Dr. Carlos Morales, believes he is the man of her dreams and that her longed for adventure in Life is about to begin. But all is not as it seems.

In this contemporary romantic tale, the Aussie heroine along with a rag tag ensemble, which includes a British sailor, a fiery Argentinean mistress, and a selection of good and not so good Mafioso, become entangled in a long ago tale of corruption and murder in the "Dirty War" of Argentina.
