Beschrijving
The Guild Shakespeare opens with two works that illustrate Shakespeare's genius as a writer of comedy. One, a Midsummer Night's dream, is a play that probes the very basis of artistic imagination with a brilliance that has made it a touchstone for writers, painters, composers and filmmakers. The other, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, is a work that may well have represented Shakespeare's professional debut as a playwright. It displays his earliest use of techniques that he would continue to refine until he had established himself as the foremost dramatist of an age in which the theatre achieved its finest hour.
