This world of dark academia, with vampires and a sentient house, was intriguing but didn’t hook me like I expected. It was written in that way where you can tell the author is aiming for beautiful, lyrical prose but it just comes across as confusing, riddled dialogue instead. None of the characters were very likable and I didn’t connect with any of them enough to really care what happened to them. The dynamic between all of the characters- especially the FMC and MMC- was just weird and confusing. It took a while to understand the world-building and lore but I did find it interesting enough to want to keep reading to find out what would happen. I hate that it ended up ending with a cliffhanger because I don’t know that I’ll continue the series.
