Sinceramente, o livro é bom... mas eu achava que ia ter mais foco no romance, e outra que raiva, a protagonista fica em dúvida entre o ex e o príncipe gente?!!

Out of the kindness of my heart I will be giving this book 2 stars. The cover of the book is so damn pretty, but the inside... it's the most predictable storyline ever. This book is like watching a Bachelor season being unfolded. Did I like any of the characters??? Hmmm no not really. I just didn't think that this book was executed that well. Maxon is just so naive and America is just so indecisive. The entire love triangle thing between Aspen, America and Maxon just made me cringe. The whole time I while I was reading it I was like this:
OMG! OMG! I think romance books is the next best thing for me. I absolutely love this series and I am going to read the next book after I finished this review so it might be a quick one.I was team Maxon all along, I do hope she realises aspen is not the one and that he won't treat her right. America as a princess is exactly what I want to happen. ALSO, I DETESTE CELESTE and it rhymes as well. Anyway, got to start read bye!!

Ik vond het vroeger een prachtig boek, nu ben ik er iets minder fan van. Een aantal dingen waren onnodig en obvious, maar toch een leuk boek.
I loved it and can't wait to read book 2!I fell in love with the world almost automatically.
The Selection is such a fun and addictive read! Watching Maxon and America’s bond grow is one of my favourite parts—it always gives me butterflies. This is my third time reading the series, and it still makes me feel so giddy. 5 stars for all the feels!
This is one of THE best books ive ever read. Prince Maxon is so vunerable in such a nice way. He is so kind to America,even though she tells him the honest truth without thinking about it. Its kind of refreshing and this writer has captured the perfect man for America, to the point that if i could get my hands on a poster of him i would have one of him on my wall.I try not to focus on the political side of the book with the rebels and the futeristic side with the world having had 4 world wars.That scares me a little and the fact that it is only really for the princes to have a selection and not the princesses, it kind of strikes me as odd. Nevertheless it has been one of the best books ive read and i cant believe i waoted so long to read it.
⭐️3.75-4Definitely a fun time.While this book isn't the most well written (for instance, the world-building isn't the strongest and some of the dialogue and things that happened within the book felt a bit cliché), and while America is a decent character overall, she does occasionally give off that “I’m not like other girls” vibe and there are other elements within this book that I didn't love, like the love-triangle trope (which I'm convinced I'll never care for), but I will say I devoured it and couldn't put it down.I must admit that despite being a 2012 YA and slightly light and silly at times (which I think is a little intentional since I don’t think this series is meant to be taken too seriously), as a 22-year-old, I enjoyed this book and was highly entertained.I do believe my young teen self would have loved this book even more and part of me wishes I had read it when I was a young teen, as I had a good time with it, which I can't say for many of the books I have read so far this year. As I move onto the next book, 'The Elite', I fear that ‘The Selection’ series will be a “guilty pleasure” series for me, but I plan to embrace it because I'm genuinely having a blast so far.
