The beginning of NANA is honestly so good. Two completely different girls with the exact same name somehow end up sharing an apartment, and that’s basically where the chaos begins. Nana O. is immediately magnetic, while Nana K. is a little frustrating but also weirdly lovable. I love how quickly their friendship develops without feeling forced. The fashion, music, Tokyo setting and overall early-2000s atmosphere are immaculate. It starts off feeling like a fun josei romance, but you can already tell this is going to hurt.
