The Big Bonfire

A Season of Sight Words is a series of easy-to-read stories that feature the most frequently used words in the English language. And as the seasons advance from fall to winter to spring, the sight words introduced in each story progress from simple to more challenging words. Memorizing these key words “by sight” will give children an important tool on the road to reading success.

Focusing on familiar fall themes, such as apple picking these short books help kids learn simple one- to three-letter words by sight. Each book introduces a new pair of sight words, such as "it" and "yes," eventually familiarizing kids with 16 must-know words. When children can recognize words at a glance, without taking the time to sound them out, reading becomes easier and more enjoyable.

The series includes: Spooky Scarecrow, Billy Rides His Bike, Going on a Hayride, Let's Pick Apples, Lots of Leaves, Pumpkin Time, The Big Bonfire, and The Football Game.
