Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children blends mystery and fantasy to create an original atmospheric read albeit with some uneven pacing and character development. I think Ransom Riggs does just enough with his writing to keep things interesting once it gets going. The first 2-3 chapters are largely uninspired but it does pick up and builds steam as the story progresses. Its definitely a case of slow start—strong finish.

Loved the characters, loved the premise, loved the pictures, loved this book!

First time reading this book and I loved it. I watched the movie when it came out and fell in love then when I found out there was more to the story I had to buy the series to find out what happened.
