i read the first book and i had to ...yes i had to. read the second book in the series.this book was as compelling as the first. i wonder if there will be another? if so I cannot wait for the next instalment.

It's difficult to make up my mind about this book. At one point I really struggled to get through it.The story was at way too descriptive at a certain point, and very hard to enjoy.But, I have to admit, I admire Deborah's talent of writing historically correct, making famous historical people part of the story.I also admire the fact that it builds up to certain climaxes.But I am a bit sad that it took me so long to appreciate the story.Glad to have read it. Not planning on reading it a second time.Not sure whether I'll give her third one a try.

Loving this series. As with the first in the series [b:A Discovery of Witches|8667848|A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1)|Deborah Harkness|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1322168805s/8667848.jpg|13190160] when you think back on the story, not a huge amount happens but the author manages to make it entirely engaging and impossible to put down. Can't wait for the author to finish the final installment.
