I caught this at the right time. I'm in the middle of a big leap of my own, and Santiago's journey resonated in a way it wouldn't have a year ago. The story captures the emotions and feelings that the difficult part was never the adventure...but the decision to leave the familiar behind, before you have any proof it'll work out.Don't usually read fables, but in this Coelho strips everything down until there's nowhere for the idea to hide, then trusts you to sit with it. It reads in an afternoon but it lingers a lot longer than the length suggests. Glad I finally got to it.
Wonderful. I couldn't put it down! Its a nice quick read but has an INTENSE impact with the lessons learned within.
Uma história inspiradora. Não tenho religião ou crenças no espiritual, no entanto esta história ensinou me a nunca desistir, que mesmo que algo me corra mal, sempre tentar. Em acreditar em mim e na minha intuição.
I enjoyed this book. It was quite contemplative. It was philosophical in a kind of adultish version of Oh! The Places You'll Go. It was beautiful and descriptive with a rich cultural landscape combining philosophy and religious background into a pretty majestic book. I think I'll read this again one day. I'd like to read it in Portuguese, even though Paulo was writing in Brazilian PT as he's Brazilian.If you like The Old Man and the Sea, philosophy, or are on a personal journey, you may like this book.Triggers: Death, Violence
I intuitively bought The Alchemist. It's a decision I would never regret. I simply could not put the book down. It's the type of book that just speaks to your soul.
A pesar de salir de mi zona de confort, me gustó el libro. Puede ser muy ñoño, pero es una fábula acerca de seguir tus sueños hasta conseguirlos, y no olvidar el aprendizaje del camino.
A surprisingly quick and easy read! It was an interesting tale with lots of hidden meanings. It reminded me a lot of one thousand and one nights!
Who doesn't know about this book even if you are non reader you atleast heard of this book. Its a masterpiece if you read this book in your initial reading.
