Having an odd conversation, her boss asks her to 'make a wish' as her birthday gift.Found about this book and the author 'Haruki Murakami' through bookstagram and have read so many positive reviews of his writing style. And, oh! how glad I'm to read this book.It was a short but intriguing story that keeps you hooked till the end, filled with suspense as well as have a lightness to it. Murakami has portrayed that something extraordinary can happen in ordinary life. There is this conventional yet supernatural feeling that makes the story fascinating. The writing has so much depth in it and throughout the story, you will keep wondering what more is hidden in these words. So much is there left to be interpreted by the reader and there are more questions than answers. Some of the unanswered questions are what did she wish for? Did it come true? Who is narrating all of this? Subtle hints are provided making it an open-ended interpretation. An overall amazing read which will be finished in a couple of minutes but will stay with you for a long time. I am now a fan of Murakami's writing and would love to explore his other writings.100% recommend it.Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
