20年光陰荏苒，克蘿伊成為一名臨床心理醫師。她有穩定的事業、深愛她的男友，還有一個幸福家庭的夢。但就在此時，鎮上卻又開始發生殺人案，失蹤少女的屍體在克蘿伊診所的後巷中被發現，脖子上的掐痕、手上的屍斑，以及消失的貼身物品，都讓克羅伊備受衝擊，因為這犯案手法如此熟悉，就和父親當年一樣。
那年夏日的回憶再度湧上心頭，兇手是父親的模仿犯嗎？還是當年的真兇另有其人？克蘿伊知道，只有她自己才能揭開真相，不管這個真相有多麼駭人……

I had a feeling who the murderer would be very early on in the story (but that may be because of how many of these types of stories I’ve read lately and knowing it’s never what you think) but it was still a fun read trying to figure out how it all tied together. Looking forward to more from this author.
->3.5 StarsHonestly, this was a bit of a let down. I had heard so many great things and I don't read many mystery/thrillers or murder mysteries, so I assumed with not much to compare too, it would be great and it just didn't hit.It was good, it was fine, I like the writing. The characters felt flat though and I guessed both plot twists early on. However I was intrigued, mostly hoping to be surprised and to see how everything played out in the end. I was not a fan of the end, it kind of felt like the Author didn't know how to end a book so just came up with a random scene to end it at.->3.5 Stars
