Opis
Însărcinată în opt luni, singură și disperată, Tegan vrea doar să lase în urmă viața care se destramă în jurul ei. Așa că pornește la drum, hotărâtă să ajungă la fratele ei — dar o furtună de zăpadă o aruncă în afara șoselei și îi schimbă destinul pentru totdeauna.
Blocată într-o zonă izolată din Maine, cu mașina stricată și glezna fracturată, Tegan se teme că a făcut o greșeală teribilă. Apoi se întâmplă un miracol: este salvată de Hank și Polly Thomson, un cuplu care îi oferă adăpost în cabana lor călduroasă, până când viscolul se va opri.
Dar curând își dă seama că ceva nu e în regulă. Polly, fostă asistentă medicală, pare tot mai instabilă, aproape obsedată de sarcina ei. Hank e mai rezervat, dar ascunde un secret la fel de întunecat. Tegan trebuie să facă tot ce-i stă în putere ca să se salveze — pe ea și pe copilul nenăscut.

Scene: Described well, I enjoyed the setting and it was well worded but not too over complicated. A handful of places put simply, so we can concentrate on the story and characters. Standard Freida. ****
Characters: I didn't actually enjoy the temperamental characters in this, I know there's a grey area in terms of good/bad, but this was just hard to believe. ***
Story: The ending? Liked the bother part, yes. The woman getting her way? Not reporting her? Hell no - I know its not always a happy ending, but there was a twist begging to happen there ***
Recommend?: I would recommend other Freida's first, probably not this one.
I loved it! It totally met — and even exceeded — my expectations. This book was SO tense, I was nervous the whole time reading it ‘cause the atmosphere was honestly terrifying, at least for me. I really liked the characters too. The plot itself felt kinda insignificant, but I didn’t even care — I was way more focused on the story as a whole, and that part was just perfect.
The characters were sorta flat and the story lacked a little bit of tension. but I like the plot of it and it had the potential to be something great. It was good but could've been better.
