The Borg farm, something of a refuge for anyone who needs help, is the home of Orlygur the Rich, an energetic and compassionate Icelandic farmer sometimes spoken of as “the King” because of the vast number of servants he retains and the hundreds of cattle, horses, and sheep he owns. The story follows his life and the lives of his two sons, both as different from each other as could be, their life decisions and the people they impact, all in a small, close-knit Icelandic village. An epic family saga and a portrait of human nature in many of its different forms.
