What I hadn't prepared for was being swept up in the emotions of the story. The heartfelt found family friendships, Daphne's love of her job role and the extra effort she goes to for all the kids, the hurt and disappointment both Miles Jules and Daphne have had with regards to family, and the way they learn and grow as individuals throughout the book. There were several aspects of the book that really hit home for me personally and seeing the characters process these things and grow from them was reassuring. There were also several moments where I couldn't help but laugh and many more that made me smile. I think this is probably one of my favourite books by this author.
🗣️2.9 stars💬I liked this book, but it wasn't exceptional -- I could have missed out on this book and be perfectly fine with it (which is why I've already forgotten some of the plot...).🫰Emily Henry's writing and pacing is beautiful. I loved her dialogue and banter.👌For me, personally I didn't like the drug mention (I definitely understand that some people liked it, and that's okay, but it wasn't it for me).👎The plot was slightly repetitive and boring at times, so it took me a while to get through.
