For a long time, gender studies in sociological research has been marginalized. The main reason to ignore gender sociology from the tradition of functionalism. According to the functionalist view of gender is not an important issue. Although people of different sexes, the material benefits, there are some differences in terms of rights, but this difference was functional necessity, does not constitute a social injustice. This has resulted in the neglect of gender research.
"Gender" ready to learn from the study of Western gender issues on the basis of analysis and discussion of gender issues in the focus of China's performance and cause the most controversial issues, I try to clarify some of the views of gender. "Gender," the main data from a small sample (162 people) of oral history. The sample in the city are mostly women, but also a small number of men and women in rural areas. Due to the small sample size, this study has significance only exploratory study, no inference to determine the value of the target population.
