I nearly gave this book 3 stars as the amount of fighting was just hard to focus on which I never thought I'd ever say but what saved it was how entertaining the constant side switching of the Olympians was.The insults hurled at each other were hilarious and at times I forgot I was reading a book (or books) from over 2500 years ago albeit a modern translation of said book.Although I knew of the characters in this book such as Achilles, Hector, Agamemnon, etc. I didn't realise just how much involvement the gods had in the Trojan war. I also didn't realise that Achilles spends 80% of the book sulking inside his tent which in itself made me laugh.Overall it was entertaining and I'm somewhat looking forward to reading The Odyssey now.
It really peters out at the end, and it is strange that Achilles's death isn't in the book, since that part of the story is so iconic.
