Le couple d'à côté

I finished this book in less than two days, it was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was listening to it and I couldn't stop. It guessed who had stolen the baby toward the end, but still it was so much interesting, but the ending was unpredictable. The characters were so real to me. I didn't expect to like this book so much, at first I thought it was about Marco's being infidel to his wife, it put me off a bit, but it wasn't like that. A very entertaining book. Now, it is time to check out other books by Shari Lapena.

Woah....all I can say is woah. The entire time reading this I could not figure out who did it. I read this in literally 4 hours because I could not put it down!!! The twists and turns in the story had you thinking one thing but it turns out to be completely different!! So good highly recommend!!!!

J’ai trouvé cette lecture assez décevante. L’histoire partait avec un bon potentiel, mais le développement du récit m’a semblé brouillon. Le plot est confus, les rebondissements s’enchaînent sans réelle cohérence, et on a vite l’impression que ça part un peu dans tous les sens. Si on ne suit pas attentivement, on risque de se perdre car tout est trop entremêlé.Le fameux plot twist de l’intrigue n’a pas été à la hauteur de mes attentes : il manque de force et ne surprend pas vraiment. C’est dommage, car le suspense aurait pu être bien plus percutant. Vers la fin, j’ai aussi trouvé que l’histoire traînait en longueur, ce qui a rendu la lecture encore plus laborieuse.Je mets malgré tout deux étoiles, car c’est un roman qu’on a envie de continuer malgré ses faiblesses, simplement pour voir où l’autrice veut nous emmener. Mais honnêtement, si je n’avais pas écouté l’audiobook, je ne suis pas sûre que j’aurais eu la patience de le terminer en format papier.En résumé : un thriller qui aurait pu être bien meilleur, mais qui m’a laissée sur ma faim.
