With their spaceship plummeting to earth faster than the spped of light, twelve-year-old Charley Wilson and his younger sister, Julie, are the only humans aboard whose wake-up systems have been properly activated. They have less than an hour before entering earth's atmosphere. Charley struggles wit the mechanical Helper Two, whose computerized brain and steel arms won't allow Charley into the command area to find his parents and summon help.
