When bookstore owners begin dying in inexplicable ways all over St. Louis, the FBI becomes frantic. But Nate Temple – wealthy bookstore owner, playboy, and closet-wizard – already has enough on his plate trying to figure out who killed his parents, inadvertently making him a multi-billionaire overnight. Especially when the police think he’s guilty.

But what happens when Nate realizes that the murders of his parents and his fellow bookstore owners are related, and that he’s the next bookstore owner on the list? Rumor at the FBI says that the murderers are were-dragons, hungry for a fire-roasted wizard kabob among other things. The only thing Nate can do to avoid becoming part of the menu is to recruit any supernatural friends he can find into a team of Black Ops Wizards to do a little dragon hunting. But nobody believes in dragons anymore… right?
