I absolutely love Dani and Alec; such adorable dorks, honestly. Dani's social anxiety, her sarcasm, and the way she cares so much but is kind of scared it's selfish make her so relatable. I also love how she slowly comes out of her shell as the book progresses. Alec was honestly my favorite. Yeah, he was a jock, but he wasn't some macho, testosterone-oozing love interest. Instead, he was so open, very expressive, and didn't shy away from being vulnerable. He was a dork with the biggest crush on his childhood sweetheart/ex-best friend, but then he got all serious about the game and everything that was on the line. I like that he wasn't all nonchalant and was 100% ok with being whipped. The side characters were pretty well written too, but I wish we could have had more time with them, cause I'll be honest, if it weren't for their descriptions, I would've kept confusing Kyle, Vinny & Richie cause they seemed almost similar. I also loved the feeling of oneness that came with the town and hockey. It lowkey made me yearn for something like that. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a quick read or something to get them out of a reading slump.

⛸️2.75 stars🏒🫰Was still a fluffy, cute romance. As long as you don't think about it too hard, it'd be a decent book.👌Felt kind of insta-lovey, as if they weren't over each other. Also didn't like the trope utilised here for miscommunication.👎Alec kind of annoyed me, and Dani's trauma wasn't explored in a lot of depth.👎Not a huge fan of Lynn Painter's writing. It felt very basic, simple and the bare minimum. There wasn't enough description or prose.👎It had a lot of plot holes and missing explanations. Even if it could be predicted, I wanted clear answers or at least clues to help me infer the answer.
