If I could give it one star I would. Every emotion "flickers" across the person's face. It read alike a bad fan fic. How is this even popular?
I loved tandem-reading this with Powerful and I also loved this series so much. It's so heartbreaking at the end but I love to hate it. (I sobbed my heart out)
The book was good, I like this series a lot after reading it but I'm starting to like it less and less now that I'm noticing it's pretty basic and it felt like a copy paste of the red queen series with a bit of fourth wing and a lot from the red queen like wayyy too many similarities not gunna lie even the mmc type in this series felt like I've read him so many times before. It's not a bad book if your into to it I would recommend it. The story and writing is pretty good and made me cry a lot loll but that's the point
I wanted to like this book, but it just didn’t work for me. The constant use of the princes felt overdone and took away from the stakes. The pet names were cringey and repetitive, and if I hear the word plagues one more time, I might scream. The concept had potential, but the execution left me more frustrated than invested.
AHHHHH THAT ENDING! This book was literally everything needed. Im so damn excited for the rest of the series, i need to know what happens next.

I really wanted to like this book. After seeing so much of the author on social media I was looking forward to this book but honestly it just fell flat for me.I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with taking inspiration from another series, but when it came to Powerless I could see all of the inspiration and I didn't feel like Roberts had done a good enough job of making it her own. When people told me this was Red Queen mixed with The Hunger Games, I could absolutely see it. Even elements from The Selection (such as the exact kingdom name) were prevalent and it was very hard to see past that.I do not understand Booktok's obsession with Kai if I'm honest. Is it his "ocean blue eyes" which are described over and over again?All in all I probably wouldn't read the rest of the series, but I also wouldn't go and say people who liked this book were wrong. It was okay, I just wish the inspiration had been less obvious.

I loved this book so much, the tension was so high and paedyn gray ❤️ the women you are . Bro kai is literally the standard this got me out of a book slump. . My friend told me it was enemies to lovers but NO it's lovers to enemies WITH A CLIFFFHANGER . I LOVEDDD THUS SO MUCH
