SEXTON BLAKE: THE COMPLETE WALDO, VOLUME 2: Blakiana Collectors' edition

Of the many villains who opposed Sexton Blake, the great detective, none was so filled with exuberance as Rupert Waldo, the Wonder-Man. Endowed with the strength of ten men and incapable of feeling pain, Waldo’s exploits thrilled readers young and old between 1918 and 1933. His crimes were audacious, his stunts were breathtaking, his joie de vivre was infectious! Created by Edwy Searles Brooks, Waldo was a forerunner to characters such as “The Saint” but with a dash of early Superman thrown in (before Superman was created, of course).THE COMPLETE WALDO collection gathers together all of Waldo’s encounters with Sexton Blake in chronological order, with annotations and introductions by Blake expert and award-winning author Mark Hodder. In this second volume, a headless ghost causes trouble in THE GREAT SPIRITUALISM CASE, fake gold threatens to ruin the markets in THE CLUE OF THE GREEN STAIN, Waldo performs one of his most astonishing stunts in THE HUMAN LINK, and a huge collection of rubies is stolen in THE MYSTERY OF THE CHINESE ANTIQUE! It adds up to over 100,000 words of thrilling “story paper” thrills and spills!
