In all of human space, the mysterious Brotherhood wields remarkable influence, controlling technology, information, education, and the collection of knowledge. For centuries they have struggled to keep humanity from destroying itself. Now a former privateer has discovered an artifact, the possession of which provides a single person with unlimited power to manipulate time and space. Sent to recover it is the Brotherhood ship Boaz, its Captain Solomon Carrasco, and a team of cut-throat political rivals. But, as Solomon discovers, to whom do you entrust absolute power--the kind that will corrupt absolutely?
