The Bone Keeper

In a time long ago, when the wind still knew the name of the ancient people, there came an unlikely hero. Doya is the smallest boy in the village and the last to be chosen for any games. And yet, he will become a man of legend. Follow the tale of Doya as he learns what it truly means to be strong of mind, body, and spirit. Can he find out what has happened to the warriors of the village? Can he face the great Bear? Will he ever see his grandmother again?

Children will learn that it is important to listen to their bodies and to become their own bonekeepers (doing those things that keep the body healthy). The illustrations are rich, charming, and provide creative details that bring the mind and imagination alive with the same wonder and awe as the first people.
