Major Conn MacLeod (Ret,) is no ordinary forty six year old - and he now has an even longer list of achievements to prove it. Just six years after successfully passing through a "portal" from 21st Century Earth to medieval Meshech, he is now conceivably the wealthiest man alive; master of numerous demesnes, Warlord, farmer, industrialist and merchant - and soon to be father of thirteen children. Despite his obvious success, he is risking it all by intervening in a war that is not of his making, and is leading his small army again huge odds. His opponents are aided by the Ancuman, powerful warriors from a distant continent, who, guided by their mad Goddess, are trying conquer Meshech and turn everyone into slave - and who are taking his constant interfering extremely poorly.

Thankfully, he has his slave girl, the beautiful but deadly Priecuman warrior Halla, to keep him diverted and the mighty warrior, Derryth of the Twacuman, to keep him alive.
