the beginning of the book was quite slow, and the rebellion seemed to be stalling at every turn. I was not quite sure if Paige was going to be able to live up to everyone's expectations (Warden, TereBell, the Syndicate. Even her own expectations)but by the end of this book, I could see how Ms Shannon was just building up the foundation for Paige to grow from, and she has been through some stuff any normal character would have buckled under.I've been engrossed in this world, it's got enough world building, lore and plot twists to keep my brain engaged and focused on Paige's tribulations rather than mine.I've reserved the next book's from the library, so hopefully I can jump back into the world of Scion as soon I get back from Auckland.
