Beards and Broken Hearts

I absolutely loved this quick and fun second chance romance from Heather Lauren! The only thing that I would have done different is I wish that the book would have been longer! I wanted more of Layton and Daphne! 🩷I loved when even after being apart for 12 years and telling herself that she doesn't like him because of what happened after they were apart, she eventually realizes that deep down, she still has feelings for Layton. I also LOVE how supportive Layton is of Daphne's career. I love when the MMC is super supportive of the FMC's career and/or hobbies. 🥰My favorite part of Beards and Broken Hearts was the beard contest scene, that scene was so funny, especially Layton's part! ❤️A couple of my favorite lines/quotes from Beards and Broken Hearts were these;"It’s his laughter that surrounds me now. Warm and comforting, even though it has no right to make me feel that way anymore. That stupid laugh has always done mystical things to my body, and now is, unfortunately, no exception." "Without thinking, I blurt out the last thing I should admit. “I haven’t been able to move on either. I compare every man to the boy I knew. The one who sang to me to make me smile. Brought me my favorite soda every day and wrote me notes on the sand. The only one ever to touch me.”This is a quick little sweet and spicy romance novella that I finished in just a couple of hours and I thoroughly enjoyed every page of it from start to finish and I look forward to reading more of Heather's books including Holly and Jenson's story which is part of the same series as Beards and Broken Hearts! 💜
