Ver TodosMy review for Beneath the Cursed Veil by Aurelia Jane and Kel Carpenter Synopsis:Beneath the Cursed Veil is a fantasy romance novel where Meera, a bounty hunter, is hired to steal a fae prince but ends up caught and confronted by King Vareck, the man who has haunted her dreams for years, who has been also having dreams about her for years. About the plot, from the very first page the story hooks you in and I couldn’t stop reading it. I enjoyed how both of the authors had actually taken really good care to build the whole world so it is easy to imagine where everything is happening. There are many different kinds of supernatural beings in the story and it made me want to know more about them and more about what made them different from humans. It was great to see how there was so much more in the story than just the romance, their bantering was entertaining, especially when the cat of the MMC, Corvo was talking with them. The characters were also really well written, especially the female lead Meera. She is strong from the very beginning, but has a more vulnerable side in her, which makes it easy to relate to her. MMC is both strong and completely whipped by Meera, which made me giggle like a little girl most of the time. The biggest side character, Corvo, who is a familiar of Vareck, a cat is one of the characters I could continue reading the whole book with, which I think could be more like a main character instead of a side character. I marked down multiple different parts of the book but my favourite is probably this one where Corvo says this to Meera: ‘’You have the touch, Meera. Keep scratching my ear like this, and I’ll trip him out the window for you too.’’I will give this book 5/5 Stars for how entertaining it was and I can’t wait to read the second part of their story.
