Not as good as lights out but better than caught up! The spice was SPICY.
3.5 ⭐I have very mixed feelings about this one, because there were things I genuinely loved and things that were very much not for me.What I liked:- Stella. Easily my favorite part of the book. She’s a badass, she’s spicy, she’s sassy, and I loved her sense of justice.- Her relationship with her sibling. I related a lot to the whole “you’re an adult, but in my brain you’re still my innocent little baby who can do no wrong and it is my mission to protect you” thing.- AJ. I liked him a lot.- The spice. Genuinely 5/5. No notes. I blushed. What I didn’t like:- The vengeance. I really dislike characters with that “I was wronged, therefore everyone must suffer” mentality. It just does not work for me. Like, babe, you're just a hurt baby. You have enough money to go to therapy. - The cruelty between the characters. Apparently one of my biggest dark romance dealbreakers is when they actively do horrible things to each other or to someone the other person loves. Blackmail, violence, wanting to actively destroy the people I love? Physically hurting my brother? I just can’t root for the romance after that.- The final reveal about his mom. What was that choice? It wasn't even a plot twist, because it was so heavily implied Richard was a decent person and had been looking for the woman he loved for a long time. I genuinely wished the book had just committed to Richard being an asshole instead of throwing in a last-minute reveal to explain everything. It didn’t make me feel better about any of it.I think that’s why Lights Out worked so much better for me. It was dark, but it was also funny and Josh was genuinely lovable. This one just felt meaner. So yeah. Probably a 2-star story for me, but Stella and the spice dragged it up to a 3.5 (yes, it was that good).
Un libro que para mi rompió estereotipos y te demuestra que a veces las cosas no son como parecen.
I have so many mixed feelings and opinions about thisI didn't like the MMC until about 85% of the way through the book, until he redeemed himself, Stella is an absolute icon all the way throughoutI think im going to settle on:3.5☆4 spice The spice in this book was so fucking fun!!! Seeing roles the reversed was amazing
THIS BOOK HAD ME IN A CHOKEHOLD! The enemies to lovers was so slow but SOOOO GOOD. This is something that if you are looking for more tension and plot rather than smut. Great pick. Read the first two though. Otherwise. 5/5
Out of all the characters we have met in this trilogy, Tyler has been not only the most surprising but also complex character (in my opinion of course). Self discovery, growth, and acceptance is a large part of this book, exploring complex topics such as grief, sexuality, relationships, and privilege.
I was looking forward to reading this so much, ever since there were info it would come out. I kinda hoped it would improve my opinion on Tyler. In the end it did, but first half of the book, he was getting on my nerves. Actually I think both of them did. There were some scenes I really enjoyed in this book, but overall? I expected much more from this.
This is my favorite of Navessa's! The audio is really good! Usually I go pretty easily back and forth between print and audio, but I found myself wanting to save the experience for the audioneven though it took me a few extra days to get through. The pairing is grumpyXblack cat, which was awesome and not typical, They are so mean to each other, the banter is smart and funny, top tier.
