In the bustling and treacherous city of Ketterdam, Kaz Brekker and his ragtag crew find themselves entangled in a game of high stakes and deeper loyalties. Following a daring heist, they're thrust into a world where danger lurks at every corner, and betrayal is just a heartbeat away. As alliances shift and hidden agendas come to light, Kaz must navigate the shadows, leveraging his cunning and wit to keep his crew intact.

Amid the chaos, the crew faces formidable enemies, each more powerful and lethal than the last. Tensions rise as they grapple with their past and the choices that define them, questioning who can be trusted when survival is on the line. With the fate of their mission resting in their hands, the members of Kaz’s crew are forced to confront their own demons while striving for redemption and freedom.

Richly woven with themes of loyalty, ambition, and the nuanced morality of its characters, the story immerses readers in a vibrant fantasy realm where nothing is as it seems. Kaz's relentless pursuit of his goals challenges everything the crew thought they knew, leading them towards an explosive climax that will alter the landscape they’ve fought so hard to survive.

3.5 stars Fear is a phoenix. You can watch it burn a thousand times and still it will return. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy reading Crooked Kingdom. I really loved all the characters and their development as well as their relationships and friendship dynamics. I especially enjoyed Wylan's POV the most. I've always loved Wylan's story even in Six of Crows. I also found the plot twists interesting and they caught me off guard and I found the ending satisfying ESPECIALLY WHEN INEJ AND KAZ WERE HOLDING HANDS AND INEJ REUNITING WITH HER FAMILY!!!. Here's the big BUT, BUT it was really underwhelming in terms of storyline and the major events that occurred. I found the events very lacking compared to Six of Crows which left me very satisfied, whereas Crooked Kingdom left me an overall unsatisfying impression. I loved loved loved the characters so much, but most of the storyline didn't do it for me.
