Tried a second Alice Feeney book because book club. I did like the modern Agatha Christie–style mystery, and it was a fun, quick read. I had many hypotheses I was cycling through. But it was a bit meandering and the ending just didn't work for me.

Beautifully written. Very poetic and thought-provoking descriptions. I wanted to highlight so many passages and I don’t even like marking in books! The story itself was as engaging and enjoyable as I’ve come to expect from Alice Feeney. Yet again, I didn’t see the end coming. I thought I had Feeney figured out after reading a couple others of hers and would be able to pin it all down correctly, but she still managed to surprise me with the kind of ending that had me going back through the chapters wondering how I could have missed the clues. Definitely a must read!

My least favorite read of the year. Comparing this book with Agatha Christie's book is a blasphemy. I was so angry when twist was revealed. I own some more books by this author, I am in no hurry to read them.Alice Feeney in a sense joins Ruth Ware,Lucy Foley and Riley Sager, my least favorite thriller authors. My favorites are Shari Lapena, B.A.Paris, Sally Hepworth and Shalini Boland.

Thrillers are always hit or miss for me. Daisy Darker was a hit. The creepy setting of a home surrounded by water at high tide and the intentionally unloveable cast of characters created the ideal situation for a murder mystery. Though I haven't been a fan of some of Alice Feeney's other novels, Daisy Darker kept my attention and had me guessing until the end. And I never did figure out on my own who the murderer was or guess any plot twist.Highly recommend this book.

⭐️3This was an okay mystery thriller. The first 10 chapters or so of this book piqued my interest, but I didn't feel the excitement or thrill you usually experience when reading thrillers. The portrayal of a dysfunctional, flawed family filled with secrets and lies, while also bringing out the differences between each family member is done perfectly. There were some things I wasn't too pleased with, such as the present chapters being repetitive, paranormal-ish twists at the end, and it was surprisingly obvious who the mastermind was early on. I was a bit disappointed with the final reveal/twist, especially the motive for the murders, which I found implausible.Overall, this book wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.

This was just insanely good. The mystery, the intrigue, the characters. After the I Know What You Did fiasco, I've been approaching Feeney's books with a sense of trepidation. This, though, has got to be her best work yet. Honestly I just fucking loved it. A+, no notes.
