In the fourth volume of Dragon Ball, we come to the Strongest Under the Heavens tournament, watching the disciples of the Turtle Master begin to see how much their training has worked, amongst great humour, beautiful artwork, and a spectacular story line.This is probably my favourite issue of the manga so far, just because it's so out there in terms of manga tournaments. Most of them are kept quite serious, but truly, Toriyama takes the Strongest Under the Heavens tournament to a whole new level, and really brings everything to the table. Humour, anticipation and even stress to some degree - for readers very involved with the tale, at least - are all felt as we turn the pages, and it's brilliant to know that mangaka's can have this effect on people in a few simple frames.I couldn't stop giggling throughout this volume, to the point I woke my mom up sleeping in the room next door because I just couldn't stop laughing. It was really refreshing after not fully enjoying the second volume of this series, and I'm definitely looking forward to my orders of Volumes 5-10 getting here!
