Fishbone Cinderella

This book is so immersing. It's a beautiful story about a poor woman. You follow her throughout the war and her life. I love the references of cinderella mixed with the Chinese mythology. This isn't your classic cinderella retelling story though. It was hard to read about her live during the world war and how the civil war affected her. However this made the story that more beautiful. I was happy at her higher points in life and sad when life didn't go like planned. I definitely recommend reading this book.
