Book was okay. I will continue with the series.

I rated this a while ago and whilst going through my book collection in the shed, I found a book much later in this series and it brought my right back to when I read this first book. This is the book that got me into crime. This was the first book I ever read in the genre and I definitely chose well. Rebus is a fictional detective I have loved ever since I was 12 years old. Knots and Crosses introduced us to a detective that for sure will go down in literature history. His character is well fleshed out in this book and I fell in love with him just a few chapters into the book. The plot is really well thought out and had me hooked on right until the end, and I immediately got the second book in the series after finishing this one. Rankin's writing is superior and he had me hooked on every single word. I couldn't put this down. I'm hoping to revisit this book as I'm dragged back into the world of Detective Rebus. This is a definite crime recommendation from me.
