Descrição

In an alternate London where the mundane meets the fantastical, Neil Gaiman's celebrated tale of Neverwhere comes to life through a stunning graphic adaptation. Readers are drawn into a hidden realm called London Below, populated by lost souls, mysterious creatures, and those who have slipped between the cracks of the city above. Led by the reluctant hero, Richard Mayhew, this journey unveils a world lurking just beneath the surface of everyday life.

The adaptation captures the dark, whimsical illustrations by Glenn Fabry, beautifully complementing Mike Carey's evocative storytelling. Together, they elevate the narrative filled with intrigue and danger, as Richard finds himself entangled in a quest to save a girl named Door and restore balance between both worlds. Each page immerses the audience in a labyrinthine adventure that combines elements of fantasy, horror, and social commentary.

As Richard traverses through the shadows and secrets of London Below, he encounters allies and foes, each adding layers to his transformation. This graphic novel version of Neverwhere serves as a vibrant reminder of the power of courage and empathy in a world filled with darkness, inviting readers to explore the curious places that exist just beyond their own reality.

Under the streets of London there's a place most people could never even dream of. A city of monsters and saints, murderers and angels, knights in armour and pale girls in black velvet. This is the city of the people who have fallen between the cracks.

Richard Mayhew, a young businessman, is going to find out more than enough about this other London. A single act of kindness catapults him out of his workday existence and into a world that is at once eerily familiar and utterly bizarre. And a strange destiny awaits him down here, beneath his native city: neverwhere.

This is the first Neil Gaiman book I've read, after watching a lot of his work on TV to start with. This is, hand down, one of the best books I've read. The characters are a mix of very interesting, mysterious, and lovable. And the world he creates has great mystery and depth.
