Descrição

In a haunting exploration of alienation and despair, the protagonist grapples with a profound sense of disconnection from society. Struggling to understand his place in a world that seems both absurd and indifferent, he reflects on his experiences with deep shame and self-loathing. The narrative delves into the complexities of human emotion and identity, revealing a soul in turmoil.

As his journey unfolds, the reader is transported through a series of poignant reflections that confront the darker aspects of existence. The interplay between personal turmoil and societal expectations creates a resonant tension, inviting readers to empathize with a character who feels perpetually out of sync with the world around him. It is a gripping tale of introspection and the search for meaning amidst chaos.

this book really really like rollercoaster. can make me feel nausea, angry, disgust, but weirdly no sadness. just like how a human being can turn so primitive, like a beast. moral pf the story "dont afraid to said no, have your own opinions". intinya manusia bisa berubah jadi binatang karena pengaruh lingkungan buruk, tapi bukan berarti lingkungan sehat selalu bisa bikin orang jadi mulia tapi setidaknya bisa menghindari.

I just finished No Longer Human, and this is easily one of the best books I’ve read this year. It’s not emotional in the usual sense. It’s disturbing. It’s uncomfortable. It feels like watching someone peel their own mind apart layer by layer. The way Dazai writes about loneliness, morality, deceit, sex, class, addiction, and the whole “acting normal for other people” thing is sharp and brutally honest. Yozo’s voice is messed up, confused, intelligent, self-aware, and completely lost, and that combination makes the whole book feel real in a way that’s hard to explain. The last section hit the hardest for me. The whole synonyms and antonyms part, the talk about crime and God, and everything that happens with his wife and society closing in was just brilliant. Not dramatic, not sentimental — just raw and frightening. This wasn’t a sad read for me. It was a horrifying one. Dark, honest, and uncomfortable in the best way. One of those books that stays in your head long after you close it.
