It started off strong and I was on the edge of my seat, so to speak, and then it felt like it slowly drug on. Once we got to the diaries, I felt myself checking out until the last few chapters.
El unico libro con el que he llorado a mares, esta trilogía tendrá un lugar en mi corazón por siempre.
Wat is het toch met laatste delen die best wel slecht zijn? (Vind ik dan)
Faction system ✔️ Teenagers making life-altering decisions ✔️ Government secrets ✔️ Existential crisis wrapped in action scenes ✔️ Classic dystopian chaos 😌 What I liked most is that it actually keeps you invested — the world feels intense, the stakes are high, and there’s always this underlying tension of: “Okay… something is VERY wrong here.” Tris is strong without feeling perfect, Four has that mysterious emotionally-damaged-boy energy we all ate up in YA fiction 😭, and the whole story balances action + emotions pretty well. And honestly? The concept itself is so good — dividing society based on personality traits sounds smart… until you realize humans are way too messy to fit into neat little boxes 👀 Genres (aka peak YA dystopia starter pack): ⚔️ Dystopian rebellion chaos 🔥 Strong female lead energy 🖤 Morally grey system vs freedom 💣 Government conspiracy vibes 💋 YA romance + trauma bonding ✨ “I don’t fit into society” core Verdict: Action-packed, emotional, and very peak-2010s YA dystopian energy.
SPOILERSEDIT: I want to add in some other things that bugged me about this one. First off the plot read slowly but almost exactly like the plots of the first two books, Tris focusing on her mother and wanting family time and basically grieving for her loss felt out of no where as this is book three and that is something to be expected out of book twos. The forced mother plot, the romance, the genetics thing. it all made for a slow moving story its 96 pages of interesting then up till the last five chapters it's boring, The shock ending isn't even the problem the problem comes from the fact that nothing good lead up to it. Nothing worth while happened enough to make me as a reader care so then when the shock ending happened I was emotionally numb and angry and just wanted it to be over ASAP. We then get a Epilogue which in all honesty was the most sappy gooey sickening thing ever. I disagree with Four and his character by the end of this. I can see why she did two points of view on this one but honestly it took me out of the story more then made me intrestined I never want to be in four's head ever againI'm putting this in my “Review lit” since I know I won't have much to say as well as being un able to review it as I have the last two books in the series. This book gave me a headache, even reading well written bad reviews of this book make my head hurt. When I finished Insergent I had a clear view on what I wanted to see in book three, I wanted character development, a fast moving high stakes action plot, and the characters and writing I loved. Thats not what I received so on that I'm disappointed. What I did read wasn't fun. At all. It didn't even pick up right smack at the point after the video, I had honestly though I missed something going in. around 200 and 300 pages in I was bored and I could pick out things that was used to much to the point it was painful Genetics anything and everything having to do with them Four having an Identity crisis Four acting stupid Themes of what makes us human and the belif system These four things are what make up the book. Hunger games could get away with the government commentary because it was presented to us though out book one and two. This can't get away with it. It was Underwhelming, pointless, boring, DisappointingWith shallow characters, complex highly sci-fi plot (more then the action packed books I read them for)with a gooy gross ending People have mentioned it before but I agree, I don't mind sad endings, I don't mind character deaths, what gets me is how pointless the deaths were and not in a “war is bad” pointless eaither but in a “it did nothing but for a shock” death I explains this book like this Take Maze runner's ending + in books like https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12355133-the-killables and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13645645-uninvited for “Shock” at the reveal of what divergent means x Preachy + Mockingjay Just a good chunk of Mockingjay with a splash of the Very End of Code geass just with out as much reason to care. If you want better reviews look on Goodreads or amazon there are plenty My Rating: 1 of 5 stars. I'm sorry this isn't coherent, I'm sorry this is spoiler filled, I'm sorry I couldn't give a better review This book makes me sad, angry, and my head hurt more then it should and I want to leave it at that I didn't like this book which is why it is one star yes this makes me sad, yes I wish I could find something redeemable about this. But when I'm forcing myself though counting the pages waiting for It to be over whats left to say?
