Quicksilver

I had a good time reading this book. It was a different aspect of romantasy that I've read before so the experience was slightly new. However I didn't enjoy reading about the same mmc as the other romance led fantasy books I have previously read. It is boring to read about the same broody, somewhat feared and "different" mmc as before. Although he was somewhat better to read about. Also why the heck did they change the old book cover. I swear it just looks like a print that can be put on any other book and it would work, with it's generic lettering and colours.

Unmatched.I was constantly switching between being shocked, stressed, obsessed, and completely in love with the characters.And the yearning in this book?? Yeah… that’s the kind of love that ruins you in the best way possible 🖤The world-building, the secrets, the betrayal, the emotions — EVERYTHING kept me hooked until the very last page.This is the kind of fantasy romance that completely takes over your brain and refuses to leave.⭐ Rating: 6/6💭 Mood: obsessed • emotional • stressed • in love • destroyed📖 I already need the next book immediately 😭

Well… this book definitely lived up to all its hype! Yes, it may be another sassy, headstrong FMC that ends up in a fae world and falls for a tall, dark-haired shadow daddy Romantasy that feels overly familiar- BUT, I feel like it was different enough to feel fresh. The unique magic system, the portals to other realms, the vampires- they all gave it a different aspect that kept me intrigued. I even got some Beauty and the Beast vibes through the beginning, which is always a good thing for me. There was a little “telling vs showing” and unnatural info-dumping in the dialogue at the beginning, but once the story got going, it really took off! The word building was incredible, the battle and action scenes were intense and graphic in the best way, and I absolutely loved all of the side characters! Carrion may be a new favorite character, and Kingfisher melted my heart with the way he sacrificed so much for his people. I’m interested to see how his and Saeris’s characters continue to develop in the next book. In short, I loved it! I do NOT love the cliffhanger, however… I can’t wait to read Brimstone!
