Star Brigade I

The Star Brigade series rebooted/reimagined. It is the 22nd century. Humanity has changed little socially/politically, but technologically has achieved feats. It has perfected sublight propulsion and has colonized the solar system. Its greatest innovation to come will change earth forever – the fusion powered hyperdrive. Testing this marvel of engineering is the Star Brigade – the American space program overseen by GI JOE – America’s elite commando/astronaut corps. The prototype hyperdrive is aboard the USS Defiant – a scout class starship capable of performing both tactical and exploratory operations in deep space. Crewing this ship for its maiden voyage is Duke, Scarlett, Roadblock, Snake Eyes, and Jinx. When unusual telescopic activity indicates possible artificial activity in deep space, the Defiant is dispatched to investigate. Anticipating first contact with an extraterrestrial species, the Defiant crew is amazed to learn that the entire universe is not only filled with life...but ironically that of countless human cultures. There appear to be no aliens in the cosmos whatsoever. With this set of stunning foundational revelations discovered, the Joes continue pushing forward the boundaries of human knowledge, first contacting other human worlds, and trying to foster a peaceful universe. Where earth humanity once thought its internal problems were complicated, it’s about to learn that beyond its own atmosphere it gets a lot more complicated yet. An age of space exploration unseen since the Mercury/Apollo eras has been inaugurated. Yo Joe!
